Job summary

Ocado Group is seeking a hands-on Head of Financial Controls to shape and maintain the organisation's control framework. You will operate in the second line of defence, balancing deep-dive execution with governance, coordinating external audits and risk management across multinational operations.

You will train and guide finance and non-finance stakeholders, lead control testing, and contribute to committee papers, while promoting proactive control improvements and metrics across end-to-end

Qualifications

• 3+ years' PQE in second line, internal audit or assurance roles.
• Knowledge of RACMs and controls testing concepts (walkthroughs, sampling, test types).
• Understanding of internal control processes for multinational operations.
• Working knowledge of ITGC.
• Excellent stakeholder communication including senior stakeholders.
• Ability to deliver with autonomy and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate with other teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor the Group's Financial Controls environment (R2R and ITGC).
• Partner with finance and non-finance stakeholders, guiding control owners.
• Develop RACMs and manage Self-Assurance and Certification processes.
• Coordinate evidence for external audits (business process and ITGC).
• Support the Finance Risk Register and Fraud Risk Assessment inputs.
• Conduct controls testing (design, implementation, operating effectiveness).
• Review Segregation of Duties across key processes and resolve conflicts.
• Deliver tailored training and workshops on Financial Controls.
• Contribute to committee papers on Financial Control matters.
• Develop control metrics and dashboards across end-to-end processes.
• Identify control weaknesses in process/system changes and design mitigations.
• Support Material controls submissions per UK Corporate Governance Code.
