Placements24 is seeking an experienced Petroleum Engineer focused on field development to join a fully remote team serving South Africa. The role requires evaluating field viability, designing development strategies, and optimizing production across assets while coordinating with geoscience and drilling experts.

Ideal candidates will have strong reservoir engineering knowledge, proven project management, and the ability to work effectively in a virtual, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in petroleum engineering focusing on field development and reservoir management.
• Proficiency with reservoir simulation, well performance analysis, and economic evaluation software.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate potential oil and gas fields for development feasibility and economic viability.
• Develop integrated field development plans including well placement, facility design, and production strategies.
• Perform reservoir performance analysis and forecasting.
• Identify opportunities for production optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with geoscientists, drilling engineers, and other technical experts.
• Prepare technical reports, economic evaluations, and presentations for management.
• Monitor production operations and recommend adjustments to maximize recovery.
• Stay updated on technologies and best practices in petroleum engineering.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the team.
