Placements24 is seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer for a fully remote role across South Africa. You will lead reservoir modelling, performance monitoring, and development scenario evaluation to optimize hydrocarbon recovery.

You will analyze data, estimate reserves, and prepare technical reports while collaborating with geoscientists, production engineers, and management. The position supports a distributed team with strong emphasis on independent work and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive reservoir engineering experience in the oil & gas industry.
• Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel RE, CMG).
• Strong understanding of petrophysics, geology, and production engineering principles.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects remotely.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain reservoir simulation models to predict future performance and evaluate development scenarios.
• Analyze production data, well logs, and core samples to characterize reservoirs and estimate reserves.
• Optimize well placement, injection strategies, and production profiles to enhance recovery.
• Conduct economic evaluations of development plans and provide recommendations to management.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals for stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in reservoir engineering and simulation.
• Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and drilling engineers to integrate subsurface data.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical development.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
