Our client, a leading global energy company, seeks a Senior Petroleum Reservoir Engineer to optimize hydrocarbon recovery, manage reservoir performance, and guide development strategies. This fully remote role can be performed from anywhere in South Africa, including Pietermaritzburg region.

We require 8+ years in reservoir engineering with strong simulation skills (Eclipse/Tempest/CMG), data analysis ability, and the capacity to mentor junior engineers while collaborating with multidisciplinary

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in petroleum reservoir engineering, with a strong focus on simulation and field development.
• Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (Eclipse, Tempest, CMG).
• Strong understanding of reservoir rock and fluid properties, geological concepts, and petrophysics.
• Experience with data analysis and interpretation tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
• Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is essential.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct comprehensive reservoir characterization studies using geological and engineering data.
• Develop and calibrate advanced reservoir simulation models to predict future performance and evaluate development strategies.
• Perform material balance and decline curve analyses to assess reservoir potential.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and optimize existing production strategies.
• Conduct economic evaluations of development projects and reserves estimates.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for management and stakeholders.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to junior reservoir engineers.
• Collaborate with geoscientists, production engineers, and drilling engineers to integrate data and optimize field development plans.
• Stay abreast of the latest technologies and best practices in reservoir engineering.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
