Placements24 is seeking a Senior Field Application Engineer to provide expert pre-sales and post-sales support for robotics and automation projects. The role is fully remote, serving clients across industries with strong technical demonstrations and design of tailored automation solutions.

You will work independently to analyze customer needs, design solutions, and support installation, commissioning and troubleshooting while staying aligned with sales to win proposals.

Formación

• Formal engineering degree or equivalent practical experience in robotics/automation.
• Strong background in industrial robots and automation systems.
• Proficient in PLC programming and control technologies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with customers.

About the Role

Our client, a global leader in industrial robotics and automation solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Application Engineer to join their innovative team. This is a fully remote position, empowering you to leverage your expertise from your home base while providing critical pre-sales and post-sales technical support to clients across various industries. You will be instrumental in understanding customer needs, designing tailored automation solutions, and ensuring the successful implementation and integration of robotic systems. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical knowledge in robotics, automation, and industrial processes, combined with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with sales teams to demonstrate product capabilities, conduct on-site or virtual demonstrations, and provide expert technical guidance. Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical consultation and application support to customers in pre-sales and post-sales phases.
• Design and propose optimized robotic and automation solutions based on client requirements and application analysis.
• Conduct technical demonstrations and presentations, both virtually and on-site when necessary, to showcase product capabilities.
• Assist customers with system integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of robotic systems.
• Collaborate with sales teams to develop winning proposals and technical strategies.
• Develop technical documentation, including application notes, case studies, and training materials.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in robotics and industrial automation.
• Analyze customer feedback and provide input to product development teams for continuous improvement.
• Manage multiple customer projects concurrently, ensuring timely and successful technical support delivery.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues remotely, providing clear guidance and solutions.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Field Application Engineer, Robotics Engineer, or Automation Engineer.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial robots, automation systems, PLC programming, and related control technologies.
• Proven ability to design and implement complex automation solutions.
• Strong understanding of various industrial sectors and their specific automation challenges.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• A relevant engineering degree (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics) or equivalent practical experience.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for client visits if required, though the role is primarily remote, supporting clients potentially in or around Soweto and beyond.
• Experience with simulation software and CAD tools is advantageous.
