This fully remote position requires a deep understanding of mechanical design principles, kinematics, dynamics, and mechatronics, applied to the complex challenges of robotic engineering. You will play a crucial role in conceptualizing, designing, and analyzing sophisticated robotic components and mechanisms, working closely with a globally distributed team of experts. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and development of advanced robotic platforms, manipulators, and end-effectors.
• Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for detailed 3D modeling and creation of complex assemblies.
• Perform rigorous kinematic and dynamic analyses, as well as structural and vibration analysis, using appropriate simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS).
• Develop and optimize mechanical systems for precision, speed, strength, and reliability in robotic applications.
• Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, software developers, and control system specialists to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and software components.
• Design for manufacturability, assembly, and serviceability, considering cost-effectiveness and production scalability.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and manufacturing drawings.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in mechanical design and robotics.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in robotics, materials, and manufacturing technologies, and apply them to future designs.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, with a focus on robotics or mechatronics.
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a significant portion dedicated to robotics design.
• Proven experience designing complex robotic mechanisms, including grippers, joints, actuators, and chassis.
• Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and CAE tools for simulation (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink).
• Strong understanding of kinematics, dynamics, control systems, and mechatronics as applied to robotics.
• Experience with robot operating systems (ROS) is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Superior communication and collaboration skills, essential for effective remote teamwork.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor team members.
