Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Farm Manager for a large George, Western Cape operation. The role requires hands-on leadership across crop cultivation, livestock, and resource management, with on-site duties and remote administrative tasks in a hybrid setup.

You will develop annual farming plans, supervise a diverse workforce, manage equipment and costs, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards while driving productivity and sustainable practices.

Qualifications

• Experience as Farm Manager or senior agricultural manager.
• Strong knowledge of agronomy and crop science in the Western Cape.
• Ability to manage large teams and complex operations.
• Proficiency with farm machinery and irrigation systems.
• Budgeting and cost-control experience.
• Hybrid work ability with on-site duties and remote admin.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual farming plans.
• Manage crop production including soil prep, fertilization, irrigation, pest control.
• Oversee livestock health and welfare if applicable.
• Supervise and train a diverse farm workforce.
• Manage equipment and infrastructure.
• Control costs and maximize profitability.
• Maintain records of activities, yields, expenses, inventories.
