Placements24 in Gauteng seeks an experienced Farm Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day farming activities at our expansive facilities in Tembisa. The role is hybrid, combining hands-on on-site management with remote planning and administration.

You will lead crop cultivation, livestock management, budget oversight, and staff supervision, driving productivity while upholding sustainability and regulatory standards in a dynamic agricultural environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Farm Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in farm management or a similar agricultural leadership role.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills required.
• Proficiency with farm management software and general computer applications.
• Ability to manage budgets and optimize costs.

Responsabilités

• Supervise and coordinate all farm activities, including planting, cultivation, harvesting, and livestock care.
• Manage farm staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of farm machinery, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement crop rotation and fertilization plans to optimize soil health and yield.
• Monitor livestock health and welfare, ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
• Manage procurement of seeds, fertilizers, feed, and other essential farming supplies.
• Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including production, expenses, and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Implement and promote sustainable farming practices to minimize environmental impact.
• Develop and manage the farm's operational budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
