Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Facilities Manager for its Richards Bay operation in KwaZulu-Natal. You will lead comprehensive facilities management across buildings, grounds, and utilities, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations for a large industrial site.

You will develop strategic plans, manage capital projects, and drive cost controls while supervising maintenance teams, contractors, and vendors. Strong HSE knowledge and CMMS proficiency are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
• Professional certifications (e.g., FMP, CFM) are highly desirable.
• 7+ years of facilities management experience, including 3+ years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Proven experience managing industrial facilities and large properties in KwaZulu-Natal.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
• Experience in budget management, contract negotiation, and vendor oversight.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with CMMS and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive facilities management strategies and operational plans for the Richards Bay site.
• Oversee building maintenance: structural repairs, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and groundskeeping.
• Lead maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors with timely service delivery.
• Prepare and manage facilities budget; identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Plan and manage capital projects, renovations, and upgrades from conception to completion.
• Oversee security, access control, and emergency preparedness for the facility.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and asset management.
• Implement energy management programs and promote sustainability initiatives.
• Serve as primary contact for facilities-related matters with internal and external stakeholders.
