Placements24 is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, to oversee industrial engineering and capital projects on-site. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, ensure safety and quality, and drive production line upgrades in a major manufacturing hub.

The role requires strong leadership, deep technical knowledge, and a track record of delivering large-scale industrial improvements. On-site presence and collaboration with facilities teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years in project management for industrial/manufacturing projects.
• Proven track record in capital projects and operational improvements.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with MS Project or Primavera and ERP systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and vendor relations.
• PMP or Professional Engineer certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and completion of industrial engineering and operational projects.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and resource requirements.
• Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk management plans.
• Manage and motivate project teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
• Oversee the implementation of new machinery, process improvements, and production line upgrades.
• Ensure projects comply with all relevant safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
• Monitor project performance, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring.
• Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes effectively to senior management and stakeholders.
• Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
