Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Facilities Engineer to join our client in Vereeniging, Gauteng. The role focuses on the design, construction, operation and maintenance of oil and gas production facilities, ensuring safety, efficiency and regulatory compliance.

You will oversee mechanical, electrical and civil disciplines across onshore and offshore assets. The position offers a hybrid work model, with on-site operations support and remote engineering analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in facilities engineering within Oil & Gas.
• Experience with onshore/offshore facilities design, operation and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of process safety, mechanical integrity, and maintenance systems.
• Experience with project management: scope, budget, schedule.
• Knowledge of API/ASME codes and standards.
• Leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to analyze complex problems and implement practical solutions.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical leadership in design, modification and operation of oil and gas facilities.
• Oversee development and implementation of facility engineering standards and procedures.
• Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams and external contractors.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Conduct design and operational reviews of facility systems.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies for asset integrity and reliability.
• Support commissioning and start-up of new facilities and equipment.
• Lead risk assessments and hazard identifications for facility operations.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement.
