Placements24 is seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer to support offshore oil and gas operations. Based in Klerksdorp, the role combines design, operation, and maintenance of offshore facilities to ensure safety, reliability, and performance.

You will lead technical teams, work with contractors, and deliver FEED through detailed engineering phases, with travel to offshore platforms as required. This hands-on position requires strong mechanical or chemical engineering background, expertise in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years in offshore Oil & Gas facilities.
• Strong knowledge of offshore production processes and equipment.
• Experience with API, ASME, DNV standards.
• Proven risk assessment and safety engineering experience (HAZOP, SIL).
• Excellent project management and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, modification, and maintenance of offshore facilities.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
• Develop maintenance strategies to maximize uptime and reduce risks.
• Provide technical support to offshore operations teams.
• Participate in safety reviews (HAZOP, LOPA) for facilities.
• Manage contractors and vendors on facility projects.
• Review technical docs (P&IDs, specs, commissioning plans).
• Contribute to FEED and detailed engineering phases.
• Monitor performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Manage change processes for facility modifications.
