Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Exploration Geochemist to join its expanding team in Mahikeng. You will design and manage geochemical sampling programs and interpret complex chemical data to guide mineral exploration.

The role requires a Master’s or PhD in Geochemistry/Geology and a minimum of 5 years in applied geochemistry, with proficiency in ioGAS and GCDKit. Travel and professional development opportunities are offered in a dynamic mining environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in applied geochemistry for mineral exploration.
• Experience with QA/QC protocols.
• Strong understanding of element distribution and dispersion models.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement geochemical sampling programs (soil, rock, stream sediment, water).
• Collect and prepare samples for laboratory analysis with quality control.
• Interpret geochemical data using statistical methods and software to identify anomalies and targets.
• Integrate geochemical data with geological, geophysical and other datasets.
• Collaborate with geologists to develop exploration models and strategies.
• Manage relationships with laboratories for timely results.
• Prepare detailed geochemical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
