Job summary

Placements24 in Pretoria is seeking a Geologist specializing in exploration to join our client on challenging oil and gas projects. You will analyze subsurface data, map structures, and support exploration strategy.

The role requires a Master's in Geology/Geophysics, at least 5 years in oil and gas exploration, and proficiency with Petrel or Kingdom Suite. Travel to field locations is possible.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics or related Earth Science.
• Minimum 5 years of oil and gas exploration geology experience.
• Proficiency in Petrel or Kingdom Suite.
• Strong knowledge of sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology and basin analysis.
• Experience integrating seismic interpretation with geological models.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze seismic, well log, and core data to interpret subsurface geology.
• Develop and refine geological models for exploration areas.
• Evaluate prospectivity of new blocks and contribute to bidding documents.
• Collaborate with geophysicists to integrate seismic interpretation with models.
• Conduct field work and supervise geological surveys.
• Prepare detailed geological reports and recommendations.
