Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Event Coordinator specializing in Sports & Entertainment to join our team in Vereeniging, Gauteng. The role covers end-to-end management of diverse sporting events, concerts, and large gatherings, blending on-site coordination with remote planning.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in event coordination with a proven track record of managing large-scale events, exceptional planning, and strong vendor relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Hospitality or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in event coordination with sports and entertainment focus.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale events with complex logistics.
• Excellent project management, organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
• Proficiency in event management software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute a wide range of sports and entertainment events from conception to completion.
• Develop detailed event plans with timelines, budgets and resources.
• Liaise with clients, vendors, sponsors, and stakeholders to meet objectives.
• Manage logistics including venue, catering, AV, staffing and security.
• Oversee event marketing and promotion efforts.
• Conduct post-event analysis and financial reconciliation.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during planning and execution.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and legal regulations.
