Placements24 in Gauteng seeks a diligent Environmental Engineer to join our team in Benoni. The role focuses on ensuring environmental compliance, conducting EIAs, and developing sustainable solutions for industrial and infrastructure projects.

You will monitor environmental performance, prepare EMPs, liaise with regulatory bodies, and contribute to reporting. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in environmental consulting or management and knowledge of SA environmental legislation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related science field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental consulting or management, preferably within the civil engineering sector.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting EIAs and developing EMPs.
• Knowledge of South African environmental legislation (NEMA, MPRDA, etc.) and permitting processes.
• Proficiency in environmental modeling software and data analysis tools.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct EIAs and develop Environmental Management Plans (EMPs).
• Monitor and report on environmental performance at project sites, ensuring compliance with permits and regulations.
• Identify environmental risks and propose mitigation measures for construction and operational activities.
• Advise on waste management, pollution control, and resource conservation strategies.
• Liaise with government environmental agencies, local authorities, and project stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of current environmental legislation, policies, and best practices.
