Job summary

Zutari in Pretoria seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join our mining and materials handling group. You will lead front-end engineering studies, design validation, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams on large EPCM projects across mining and energy sectors.

The role requires at least 5 years of relevant experience, professional registration, and strong communication. You will engage with clients, prepare proposals, and support construction and commissioning with site involvement as needed.

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc in Mechanical Engineering and professional registration.
• Postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Experience in lump sum turn-key EPCM projects in mining/materials handling.
• Strong analytical and design management experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within Zutari to achieve project goals.
• Prepare proposals and presentations.
• Provide monthly reporting across projects.
• Ensure substantiation of designs.
• Define project scope, design criteria and schedules.
• Coordinate technical interfaces and site support.
• Generate tender and project documentation and costings.
• Support manufacturing, construction and QA processes.
• Lead front-end engineering study work.
• Manage budgets and client relationships.
