Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer for a fully remote role focused on design, development, and implementation of sophisticated embedded systems. You will architect real-time software, develop firmware, and ensure seamless hardware-software integration across a global team.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years in embedded design, deep C/C++ expertise, and hands-on experience with ARM Cortex‑M and ESP32 microcontrollers, RTOS, and modern connectivity protocols.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of embedded systems design and firmware development.
• Expert proficiency in C and C++ for embedded environments.
• Strong experience with ARM Cortex-M and ESP32 microcontrollers.
• Knowledge of RTOS and embedded communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, TCP/IP, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi).
• Experience with debugging tools and test equipment.
• Solid understanding of hardware-software co-design principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and remote collaboration skills.
• Proven ability to work independently on multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software and firmware for microcontrollers using C/C++.
• Architect and implement RTOS for complex applications.
• Develop and integrate device drivers and communication protocols.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define system requirements.
• Perform system-level debugging, optimization, and root cause analysis.
• Create and execute unit, integration, and system tests for quality.
• Stay current with embedded technologies and advocate adoption.
• Contribute to system architecture and mentor junior engineers.
