Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in embedded systems to join a fully remote engineering team. You will lead the design and development of next‑generation electronic products from concept to production, architecting embedded hardware and selecting components.

You will collaborate with a distributed team of hardware, firmware and software engineers to drive system integration, perform rigorous validation, mentor junior engineers and deliver robust,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in embedded hardware design and development.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium Designer, Eagle).
• Strong understanding of embedded system architecture, microprocessors, memory technologies, and power management.
• Experience with high-speed digital design, signal integrity analysis, and EMI/EMC mitigation.
• Proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
• Excellent communication and experience working in a remote, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test embedded hardware systems, including schematic capture, PCB layout oversight, and component selection.
• Integrate microcontrollers, FPGAs, sensors, and communication interfaces into robust system designs.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for hardware verification and validation.
• Collaborate with firmware and software engineers to define system architecture and ensure seamless hardware‑software integration.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior hardware engineers within the team.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex hardware issues throughout the product development cycle.
