Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in field service/maintenance of industrial machinery.
• Strong troubleshooting for electrical systems including control circuits, motors, PLCs, and HMI.
• Willingness to travel within SA.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical issues on industrial equipment at customer sites.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and installations according to service manuals and specifications.
• Provide on-site technical support and guidance to customer personnel.
• Identify and order necessary spare parts for repairs and maintenance.
• Complete and submit detailed service reports, time sheets, and expense reports accurately and promptly.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers as trusted technical advisor.

About the Role

Our client, a global leader in industrial equipment manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Field Service Engineer to provide expert technical support and maintenance services to their customers in the Randburg, Gauteng area and surrounding regions. This hands-on role involves diagnosing and resolving complex electrical and mechanical issues with industrial machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum customer satisfaction. You will be the technical point of contact for clients, offering troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance services. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with excellent diagnostic skills and a strong commitment to customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical issues on industrial equipment at customer sites.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and installations according to service manuals and technical specifications.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in field service, maintenance, or technical support of industrial machinery.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical systems, including control circuits, motors, PLCs, and HMI.
• Experience with AC/DC drives, power electronics, and industrial automation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory and occasionally longer distances.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
