Tumaini Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer for a renewable energy project portfolio based in Cape Town. The role requires leading electrical designs for energy evacuation systems from 11kV to 132kV, including substations, switchgear, protection and metering.

Qualifications

• 10+ years post-qualification experience in electrical engineering.
• BEng/BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• ECSA registration or eligibility for professional registration.
• Hands-on experience with 11kV to 132kV substations and overhead lines.
• Knowledge of grid connection requirements and SA grid codes.

Responsabilités

• Lead the electrical design of energy evacuation systems from 11kV to 132kV, including substations, switchgear, protection and control schemes, and metering.
• Develop and review overhead line designs, including conductor and structure selection, clearances and earthing.
• Prepare and review single-line diagrams, layouts, protection coordination studies, earthing studies and equipment specifications.
• Liaise with utilities, network operators and grid authorities regarding connection requirements, technical approvals and grid code compliance.
