Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Stellenbosch to lead the electrical design for utility-scale solar PV and other renewable energy projects from concept through construction support.

You will perform studies, develop drawings and BOMs, and ensure compliance with standards while collaborating with project teams and clients to deliver efficient, safe installations in the renewable sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of Electrical design experience with renewables, especially solar PV.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, PVsyst and DIgSILENT for power system studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for utility-scale and commercial solar PV projects.
• Perform electrical studies including load flow and short-circuit analysis.
• Develop detailed drawings, specifications and BOMs.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and client requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to construction teams during execution.
