Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a fully remote role within South Africa. You will lead the electrical design for utility-scale power projects, covering substations, transmission lines, and power plants, with HV/MV systems and grid integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in electrical utility projects.
• Experience with HV and MV systems and equipment.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software (PSS/E/ETAP/DIgSILENT).

Responsabilités

• Lead electrical design and engineering for utility power projects including substations and transmission lines.
• Develop detailed electrical designs, specs and construction documents for HV/MV systems.
• Perform power system studies: load flow, short-circuit, stability and protection coordination.
• Review equipment specs and specify transformers, switchgear, breakers, and cables.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and remote design teams.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure project success.
• Support construction, commissioning, and vendor submittal reviews.
