Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our client’s technical team in Benoni, Gauteng. You will design, plan, operate, and maintain the electrical distribution network to ensure reliable, safe power delivery for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

You will apply expertise in distribution system design, protection coordination, and network analysis to support upgrades and modernization, while coordinating with field crews and project teams in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical power distribution engineering.
• Experience with distribution system design, operation, and protection principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and optimize electrical distribution networks including substations and feeders.
• Perform load forecasting, power flow studies, and fault analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and guidance to operational staff.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical power distribution engineering.
• Strong knowledge of distribution system design, operation, and protection principles.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., CYME, PSS/ADEPT, ETAP Distribution).
• Understanding of South African grid codes and electrical safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) or ECSA registration is highly advantageous.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the service area as needed.
• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Benoni area.
