Job summary

Goldman Tech Resourcing is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join an established team in Secunda or Cape Town. You will lead MV/LV industrial electrical design, engineering and equipment specification for petrochemical-focused projects, taking ownership of deliverables and driving them to completion.

Applicants should have a BEng/BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering with 5–10 years’ MV/LV experience; Pr.Eng status with ECSA is a plus.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 5–10 years of experience in electrical engineering on MV/LV projects for industrial plants.
• ECSA Pr.Eng registration is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior electrical engineering expertise across MV/LV industrial plant projects.
• Develop detailed electrical designs, engineering solutions, and specifications for equipment and networks.
• Design electrical systems per project requirements, standards and client specifications.
• Provide input across the full lifecycle from concept to execution.
• Review equipment and network requirements; develop cost-effective solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project delivery.
• Prepare accurate technical reports and documentation in English.
• Own engineering deliverables and drive completion.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and stakeholders on technical matters.
• Support continuous improvement in the engineering environment.

Job description

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client's established engineering team in Secunda or Cape Town. This role offers the opportunity to work on industrial electrical projects, with a strong focus on MV/LV systems, detailed design, engineering, and equipment specification. Preference will be given to candidates with experience within the petrochemical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide senior electrical engineering expertise across MV/LV industrial plant projects.
• Develop detailed electrical designs, engineering solutions, and technical specifications for equipment and networks.
• Design and engineer electrical systems in accordance with project requirements, applicable standards, and client specifications.
• Provide technical input across the full engineering lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through to project execution.
• Review electrical equipment and network requirements and develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project integration and delivery.
• Provide technical support and resolve complex electrical engineering and project-related problems.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and project stakeholders on technical and engineering matters.
• Prepare accurate technical reports, specifications, calculations, and engineering documentation in English.
• Take ownership of engineering deliverables and drive tasks through to successful completion.
• Contribute to a proactive, results-oriented engineering environment and support continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• B Eng or BSc Eng degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5-10 years' experience in electrical engineering on MV/LV projects relating to industrial plants.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr.Eng will be advantageous.
• Experience in detailed design, engineering, and specification of electrical equipment and networks.
• Experience within the petrochemical environment will be advantageous.
• Strong technical problem-solving abilities with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive tasks and projects to completion.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Self-disciplined, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Good interpersonal and client-facing skills.
• Strong report-writing skills in English.
• Valid Code B/EB driver's licence.
