• 15+ years of experience preferable; energy/chemical/petrochemical project background in contracting environments is required.
• Professional Registration with ECSA is required.
• Experience with commissioning and plant start-up; strong LPG experience and refrigerated LPG/cryogenic storage knowledge are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineer on electrical scope across all project phases (feasibility to commissioning).
• Participate in PFD/P&ID reviews, HAZOP and SIL reviews, 3D model and constructability reviews.
• Lead hazardous area classification reviews and electrical design deliverables.
• Manage project schedule for the electrical scope and coordinate with consultants to meet scope, quality and schedule.
• Prepare Scope of Work/Works Information for electrical services and monitor delivery to time and budget.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with relevant design house experience to join the Electrical Engineering Department.

The successful candidate will be required to fulfil the following job description but not limited to:

• Interaction with the client and forming part of an owner’s team with the client
• Performing lead engineer role.
• Participate in PFD and P&ID Reviews, HAZOP and SIL reviews, 3D model and constructability reviews
• Lead hazardous area classification reviews
• Project schedule management for the project electrical scope
• Preparation of Scope of Work / Works Information for supply of services and management of consultants to deliver to scope, quality and schedule.
• Execute projects within schedule and budget
• General electrical design activities/ deliverables
• Network studies and protection grading studies.
• Detail medium and low voltage substation design, including equipment specification and selection.

The scope of this role will require the incumbent to work in a projects based environment covering all phases of project execution (feasibility, concept, basic, detail, construction support and commissioning).

The individual will engage in electrical design activities related to producing and checking electrical engineering deliverables.

The individual will be responsible for electrical deliverables on the project.

• The successful candidate must be in possession of a BSc./ B.Eng. Electrical/ Electronic Engineering degree with 10 years engineering experience. 15+ years of experience is preferable.
• Experience in contracting environment working on projects in the energy and chemical/ refining / petrochemical industries is required.
• Lead Engineer Experience
• Professional Registration with ECSA is required.
• The candidate must have participated in commissioning and plant start-up.
• The candidate must have refrigerated LPG, cryogenic storage, terminal, marine, EPC and brownfields experience. Strong LPG experience is essential.
• Experience with relevant codes for LPG facilities.
• Experience with IEC/SANS 60079 series for explosive atmospheres, hazardous area classification and selection of equipment.
