Job summary

AECOM Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa seeks a Senior Designer - Electrical (Resources + Industry) to join a multidisciplinary team working on mining and industrial projects. You will lead electrical design, coordinate with disciplines and ensure adherence to international standards within a global delivery model.

Your role involves mentoring junior designers, maintaining quality, and delivering cost-effective, fit-for-purpose solutions in a collaborative environment across regions and clients.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of electrical design and drafting experience in mining, resources, industrial, energy or heavy industry.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation with 2D/3D deliverables.
• Experience with ProjectWise and controlled digital delivery workflows.
• Fluency in English and ability to collaborate with international stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Australian standards and international engineering practices is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce and coordinate detailed electrical designs and drawings per project standards.
• Perform electrical design and drafting using AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM Forma.
• Develop concept and detailed mine services, plants, and infrastructure designs.
• Coordinate designs with multiple disciplines for integrated outcomes.
• Manage drawing registers and design deliverables; mentor junior designers.
• Support project teams across regions with technical queries and deliverables.
