Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Designer - Electrical (Resources + Industry) based in Centurion, Gauteng. The role supports mining and industrial projects within a global delivery network and offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement, balancing office and remote work.

You will lead detailed electrical design activities, coordinate across disciplines, and mentor junior designers while engaging with international project teams to ensure compliant, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 8 years of electrical design and drafting experience in mining, resources, or industrial sectors.
Self-checking with strong documentation control and English communication.

Responsibilities

Produce and coordinate detailed electrical designs, layouts, drawings, and documentation per project standards.
Perform advanced electrical design and drafting using AutoCAD, MicroStation, ProjectWise, BIM Forma and related software.
Develop concept and detailed designs for mine services, transport systems, water infrastructure, industrial plants and electrical systems.
Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, structural, civil, process and control systems disciplines for integrated outcomes.
Participate in design reviews and clash resolution to support efficient delivery.
Manage drawing registers, design deliverables, and workflow for work packages.
Conduct quality reviews of work and mentor junior designers.
Collaborate with regional teams and clients to manage technical queries and priorities.
Contribute to continuous improvement and standardised design practices.
