Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power Systems.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in designing electrical utility infrastructure.
• Experience with power system analysis software (PSS/E/ETAP/PSCAD).
• Knowledge of HV/MV equipment and protection & control schemes.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for utility projects including substations and lines.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, stability studies and protection coordination.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, schematics, layouts, and specs.
• Ensure compliance with SANS, IEC, IEEE and utility requirements.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines for integrated designs.
• Review submittals and respond to technical queries during construction.
• Conduct site visits for feasibility and data collection.
