Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced electrical systems. This remote role lets you contribute from anywhere in South Africa while collaborating with a distributed team of engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to push boundary-pushing innovations.

You will design schematics, PCBs, and system architectures, select components for performance and cost, and produce BOMs and specs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in electrical design and product development.
• Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
• Strong analog/digital circuit, power electronics, and embedded systems knowledge.
• Experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs or embedded processors.
• Familiar with SPICE and debugging tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication for a remote team.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• RF design or signal integrity is a plus.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in electrical design and product development.
• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro).
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and embedded systems.
• Experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, or other embedded processors.
• Familiarity with simulation software (e.g., SPICE) and debugging tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills for a remote environment.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines effectively.
• Experience with RF design or signal integrity analysis is a plus.
