Placements24 in Polokwane, Limpopo, is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to design and oversee advanced power systems for industrial and commercial projects in the region.

You will lead schematics, studies, specifications, and tender documentation, while guiding junior engineers and ensuring compliance with SANS, IEC, and NEC standards. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies and meaningful infrastructure development within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in electrical design focusing on power systems.
• Pr.Eng. registration with ECSA is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in ETAP, PSS/E, AutoCAD Electrical.
• Strong knowledge of SANS, IEC and NEC codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical power systems, including schematics, single-line diagrams, and control systems.
• Conduct load flow, short circuit, and protection studies using industry-standard software.
• Prepare specifications, bill of quantities, and tender documentation for electrical equipment and installations.
• Provide guidance and supervision to junior engineers and technical staff.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant national and international electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
