Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to mining projects in the Rustenburg area. The role focuses on design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for mining environments, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years in electrical design, preferably in mining or heavy industry, and is proficient with AutoCAD and Revit MEP for detailed schematics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 6+ years in electrical design, mining or heavy industrial experience preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit MEP for designing electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical designs and schematics for mining equipment, substations, and distribution networks.
• Conduct power system studies, including load flow analysis, short circuit calculations, and protection coordination.
• Specify electrical components, materials, and equipment to meet mining safety standards.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of electrical systems on-site per design specifications and safety protocols.
• Troubleshoot electrical failures and implement corrective actions to maintain operational continuity in harsh mining environments.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver integrated solutions.
