Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 8 years in electrical design with a focus on industrial automation.
• Experience in mining sector and MHSA safety standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and specification of control systems for mining equipment and processes.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, control panel designs and wiring diagrams using CAD.
• Specify PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs, and select automation components.
• Oversee integration of electrical systems with mechanical/IT infrastructure.

• Troubleshoot complex electrical and automation issues during projects and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and specification of control systems for mining equipment and processes.

• Specify and select appropriate PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and other automation components.
• Oversee the integration of electrical systems with mechanical and IT infrastructure.

• Ensure designs comply with relevant mining safety regulations (e.g., MHSA) and industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical design engineering, with a significant focus on industrial automation, preferably in the mining sector.
• Expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA systems design.
• Strong understanding of electrical power distribution, motor control, and instrumentation in an industrial setting.
• Experience with variable speed drives and industrial networking protocols.
• Knowledge of mining-specific electrical standards and safety requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote mining environment.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration is a significant advantage.
