Job summary

Placements24 in Randburg is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Designer to develop and specify electrical building services for diverse projects. You will collaborate with architects and engineers to deliver integrated, safe, and efficient designs for commercial, residential, and institutional buildings.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and strong AutoCAD/Revit MEP skills, with knowledge of SANS 10142/10114 and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design for building services.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs and specifications for building services including power distribution and lighting.
• Prepare detailed electrical layouts, schematics and single-line diagrams using CAD software.
• Select electrical equipment considering performance, cost and maintainability.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS 10142, SANS 10114 and client requirements.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams through the project lifecycle.
• Assist in tender documents and BOQs; provide construction support and site inspections.
• Conduct lighting calculations and energy efficiency assessments.
• Stay updated on new technologies and standards; present concepts at meetings.
