Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Drilling Supervisor for a hybrid role in the George area. You will oversee on-site drilling operations, drive safety, efficiency, and cost control, and coordinate with geologists and engineers on major projects.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in drilling with 5+ in supervision, IWCF certification, and strong leadership to guide crews on complex offshore or unconventional wells.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in drilling operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
• IWCF certification required.
• Strong leadership and team management skills to motivate and direct crews.
• Proficiency in drilling simulation software and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all aspects of on-site drilling operations, ensuring safety compliance and best practices.
• Develop and implement detailed drilling programs and contingency plans.
• Monitor rig performance, equipment status, and crew activities to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Ensure proper execution of well control procedures and manage any events effectively.
• Oversee procurement and management of drilling equipment, materials, and services with cost control.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to foster a strong safety culture.
• Analyze drilling data to identify challenges and implement improvements.
• Prepare daily drilling reports and update management on progress, risks, and metrics.
• Liaise with geologists and engineers to align objectives with project goals.
• Mentor and develop junior drilling staff.
