Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Drilling Supervisor to oversee drilling operations near Sandton, Gauteng. The role combines office planning with essential on-site supervision to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective campaigns in the Oil & Gas sector.

You will manage rig crews, coordinate with service providers, maintain HSE standards, monitor performance, and prepare daily reports. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in drilling, at least 5 in a supervisory role, IWCF

Qualificações

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in drilling operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Proven experience in managing rig operations, personnel, and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of drilling practices, well control, safety procedures, and relevant regulations.
• Experience with various drilling techniques, including directional drilling and completion operations.
• Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to work extended hours and travel to remote locations as required for rig site operations.
• Valid driver's license and valid IWCF certification (or equivalent).
• Familiarity with the South African operating environment is beneficial.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise day-to-day drilling operations on the rig site, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
• Implement drilling programs and procedures developed by the drilling engineering team.
• Manage and mentor rig crews, fostering a safe and productive working environment.
• Coordinate with service providers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of equipment and services.
• Monitor drilling performance, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Oversee well control operations and emergency response procedures.
• Manage drilling-related costs and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Prepare daily drilling reports and contribute to end-of-well reporting.
• Communicate effectively with drilling engineers, geologists, and management regarding operational status and challenges.
