The role requires at least 8 years in drilling with 5+ in supervision, IWCF certification, strong leadership, and excellent reporting. You will liaise with service providers and management to drive performance and cost control.

About the Role

Our client, a significant player in the Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Drilling Supervisor to oversee onshore drilling operations in the Vereeniging, Gauteng region. This role is critical for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of drilling campaigns. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing drilling crews, equipment, and procedures on the rig site, ensuring all operations meet stringent safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily drilling operations at the rig site, ensuring adherence to drilling programs and company policies.
• Manage and mentor drilling crews, fostering a safe and productive work environment.
• Ensure all drilling equipment is maintained and operated safely and efficiently.
• Monitor drilling performance, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Oversee well control operations and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in drilling operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience in onshore drilling operations within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of drilling equipment, downhole tools, and drilling fluids.
• Excellent understanding of well control principles and procedures.
• Valid IWCF (International Well Control Forum) certification is required.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to work extended hours as required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa.
