About the Role

Our client, a dynamic exploration company, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Drilling Supervisor to oversee onshore drilling operations in the Mahikeng, North West, ZA region. This critical role involves ensuring that all drilling activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The Senior Drilling Supervisor will be responsible for managing rig operations, personnel, and equipment, as well as overseeing the execution of drilling programs. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, extensive operational experience, and a deep understanding of drilling techniques and safety protocols. This hands-on role requires a commitment to operational excellence and a proactive approach to managing the complexities of onshore drilling projects.

Key Responsibilities Supervise and direct all aspects of onshore drilling operations. Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental (SHE) policies and procedures. Oversee the execution of drilling programs, including well construction and completion activities. Manage drilling crews, contractors, and service providers to ensure efficient operations. Monitor drilling performance, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions. Ensure proper maintenance and operation of drilling equipment. Review and approve daily drilling reports and cost tracking. Manage rig site logistics and inventory. Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks with rig personnel. Mentor and develop junior drilling staff. Requirements A relevant technical qualification or extensive experience in drilling operations. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in drilling, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role. Proven track record of successfully managing onshore drilling operations. Strong knowledge of drilling techniques, well control principles, and equipment. Proficiency in safety management systems and risk assessment. Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Valid driver's license and willingness to work extended hours as required. Experience in the North West region of South Africa or similar onshore environments is advantageous. Benefits
