Placements24 is seeking a Senior Drilling Fluids Engineer to join our client’s operations in Polokwane. You will design and optimize drilling fluid programs, supervise field operations, and support downstream labs and field teams to maintain wellbore stability and performance.

The role requires at least 6 years of drilling fluids experience, deep knowledge of chemistry and rheology, solids control familiarity, and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of drilling fluids engineering experience.
• In-depth knowledge of drilling fluid chemistry and rheology.
• Familiarity with solids control equipment and techniques.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.

Responsabilités

• Design and manage drilling fluid programs tailored to well objectives and geology.
• Supervise drilling fluid operations on rigs and troubleshoot issues.
• Conduct laboratory testing of drilling fluid properties to ensure specs.
• Provide technical recommendations for additives and system adjustments.
• Collaborate with engineers and geologists on well planning and execution.
• Maintain records of fluid properties, volumes, costs, and write reports.
