Job summary

The Key Recruitment Group is recruiting a Senior Draughtsman for an established Air Systems Engineering Company in Parow, Cape Town. The role focuses on creating detailed 2D and 3D drawings for HVAC and air movement systems, ensuring manufacturability and adherence to standards.

You will develop drawings for fans, ducting, and associated components, interpret specifications, and collaborate with engineers and production to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman in engineering/manufacturing/HVAC or ventilation environments.
• National Diploma or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Draughting preferred.
• SolidWorks experience is essential.
• Driver's license / own transport.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for HVAC, ventilation and air movement systems.
• Produce manufacturing, fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Develop drawings for fans, ducting, air-handling systems and related components.
• Interpret engineering designs, specifications and technical requirements.
• Make design changes and drawing revisions as needed.
• Ensure drawings comply with engineering standards and project specs.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Manufacturing and other departments to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
• Check drawings for accuracy, dimensions, tolerances and manufacturability.
• Provide technical support to production and fabrication teams.

Senior Draughtsman

An established Air Systems Engineering Company, specialising in large turnkey projects, is seeking a Senior Draughtsman to join their dynamic team based in Parow, Cape Town.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman, preferably within an engineering, manufacturing, HVAC or ventilation environment.
• National Diploma, Diploma or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Draughting would be advantageous.
• Proven Solid Works experience
• Driver's license / own transport
• Experience with sheet metal, fabrication, ducting or fan-related products would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for HVAC, ventilation and air movement systems.
• Produce manufacturing, fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Develop drawings for fans, ducting, air-handling systems and associated mechanical components.
• Interpret engineering designs, specifications and technical requirements.
• Make design modifications and drawing revisions as required.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant engineering standards and project specifications.
• Work closely with Engineers, Manufacturing and other departments to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
• Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, tolerances and manufacturability.
• Provide technical support to production and fabrication teams where required.
• Assist with resolving design and manufacturing queries.
• Ensure all drawings are completed accurately and within project deadlines.
