Job summary

Mdrsolutions in South Africa is seeking a mechanical draughtsman with a Diploma in Drafting and 5+ years of 3D CAD experience, preferably in product design or production. You will create sheet metal parts, update BOMs, and model in SolidWorks.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create new sheet metal parts with fabrication, welding and assembly drawings.
• Update BOMs with latest drawing revisions and provide latest files to suppliers.
• 3D print sheet metal parts for test fitment as needed.
• Update mechanical drawings register with new parts.
• 3D modelling of existing/new products in SolidWorks.
• Create and improve standard drawing templates.

Job description

Well established refrigeration equipment manufacturer is looking for a mechanical draughtsman to join their team.

Role and Responsibilities

• Create new sheet metal parts according to the requirements of production, including fabrication, welding and assembly drawings.
• Ensuring that bills of materials are updated with the latest drawing revisions and that suppliers have the latest files.
• 3D printing of sheet metal parts as required for test fitment.
• Updating the mechanical drawings register with newly created parts.
• 3D Modelling of existing new products in SolidWorks.
• Creating and improving standard drawing templates.

Skills and Personal Attributes

• An accredited draughting qualification (Diploma).
• Minimum 5 years’ work experience with 3D parametric software and CAD design - Ideally in a product design or production environment.
• Sheet metal draughting design (essential)
• Experience in managing drawing files and CAD models.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership traits.
• Logical, analytical thinking. Solving problems by deductive and inductive reasoning.
• Excellent verbal articulation and writing skills.

Remuneration: R 480,000 per year CTC
