Job summary

CFW Environmental in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Senior Draughtsman to prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings for HVAC and air movement systems. You will produce manufacturing, fabrication and assembly drawings and develop drawings for fans, ducting and air-handling components, working closely with engineers and production.

The role requires solid experience as a mechanical draughtsman, a relevant qualification, and proficiency in SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman in engineering, manufacturing, HVAC or ventilation.
• Diploma or qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Draughting advantageous.
• Solid Works experience essential.
• Driver's license / own transport.
• Sheet metal, fabrication, ducting or fan-related products experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for HVAC, ventilation and air movement systems.
• Produce manufacturing, fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Develop drawings for fans, ducting, air-handling systems and related components.
• Interpret engineering designs, specs and technical requirements.
• Make design modifications and drawing revisions as required.
• Ensure drawings comply with engineering standards and project specifications.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Manufacturing and other departments to ensure designs are practical.
• Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions and tolerances.
• Provide technical support to production and fabrication teams where required.
• Assist with resolving design and manufacturing queries.
• Ensure all drawings completed accurately within project deadlines.

The industries we serve include the mining, power generation, industrial processing, agricultural, marine / fishing, poultry, commercial and HVAC sectors.

The company employs a diverse workforce with a strong skill set in engineering, we are seeking an experienced Senior Draughtsman that can assist with the following tasks:

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for HVAC, ventilation and air movement systems.
• Produce manufacturing, fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Develop drawings for fans, ducting, air-handling systems and associated mechanical components.

Experience and Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman, preferably within an engineering, manufacturing, HVAC or ventilation environment.
• National Diploma, Diploma or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Draughting would be advantageous.
• Proven Solid Works experience
• Driver's license / own transport
• Experience with sheet metal, fabrication, ducting or fan-related products would be highly advantageous.

Skills & Knowledge:

• Good understanding of mechanical drawings, manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
• Experience with sheet metal, fabrication, ducting or fan-related products would be highly advantageous.
