Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Commercial Vehicle Technician near Klerksdorp, North West. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing and servicing a diverse fleet of trucks, trailers and vans with emphasis on diesel engines and electrical systems.

The ideal candidate has at least 4 years in a similar role, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work safely in a workshop environment. Competitive salary and overtime potential offered.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics; strong safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in commercial vehicles.
• Repair and service trucks, trailers and vans with focus on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes and suspensions.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance to ensure fleet reliability.
• Execute scheduled servicing, oil changes, and part replacements according to specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work including parts and labor hours.
• Collaborate with fleet managers to prioritize repair schedules and minimize downtime.
