Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Commercial Vehicle Technician in Randburg to join a well-equipped workshop within a reputable logistics company. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks to ensure safety and reliability.

You will use diagnostic and power tools, conduct pre-trip inspections, and keep precise repair records. Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic is required, with hands-on experience on commercial vehicles preferred.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience as a Commercial Vehicle Technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle safety regulations and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic issues on heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, brake adjustments, and fluid checks.
• Repair and replace faulty components ensuring compliance with manufacturer specs and safety standards.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document findings.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
