Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to strengthen its IT infrastructure in Richards Bay. You will design scalable, reliable systems, bridge software development and operations, and drive automation and IaC practices to boost deployment speed and resilience.

You will work with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring tools, collaborating with teams to improve performance, security, and uptime in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in DevOps or related roles with cloud focus.
• Scripting with Bash or Python; strong automation skills.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of networking, security, and system administration.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated software delivery.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform or Ansible.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
• Automate operational tasks and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve reliability and scalability.
