Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Randburg IT operations team. You will design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and deployment processes to ensure reliability and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in DevOps/SRE, strong cloud experience across AWS/Azure/GCP, and scripting skills in Python or Bash. The role emphasizes automation, collaboration, and a hands-on approach to optimize deployments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or system administration roles.
Proven expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration.
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and infrastructure as code tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment.
Manage and automate cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Develop and maintain scripting for automation tasks (e.g., Python, Bash).
Collaborate with development teams to optimize application deployment and performance.
