Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their Richards Bay team. The role focuses on streamlining software development and deployment, ensuring high availability, and enhancing performance across hybrid environments.

You will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate cloud infrastructure, and strengthen monitoring and security practices while collaborating with development and operations teams in the KwaZulu-Natal region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
• 5+ years in DevOps or systems engineering roles.
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms and infrastructure as code (IaC) principles.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment.
• Manage and automate cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) using IaC tools.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for health and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize deployment and operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues; ensure security best practices are integrated.
