Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer focused on Cloud Automation to join its Richards Bay team. You will design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage cloud infrastructure to streamline software delivery.

The role requires 3+ years in DevOps, experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, and hands-on use of Jenkins, GitLab CI or CircleCI, plus Terraform or Ansible. You will optimize reliability and security while collaborating across development and operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a DevOps or similar role with a strong focus on automation.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash) and familiarity with container orchestration.
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and monitoring principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated software builds, testing, and deployment.
• Manage and automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and scaling (Terraform/Ansible).
• Implement and manage Docker and Kubernetes-based containerization.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security, and implement proactive solutions.
• Collaborate with developers and sysadmins to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code scripts and documentation.
