Placements24 is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will design and manage scalable cloud infra, implement IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation, and own CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in DevOps, deep cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, scripting, monitoring (Prometheus/Grafana/ELK), and strong communication for remote collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in a DevOps or Systems Engineering role.
• Strong cloud platform experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Develop, automate, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable software delivery using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Implement and manage containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or Systems Engineering role, with a proven track record in cloud environments.
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Hands‑on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Demonstrated experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.
