Job summary

Mintek seeks a Debtors Controller to manage and control debtor accounts, ensuring timely collections and adherence to approved credit control policies. The role involves reviewing customer master data, loading new customers in the ERP, maintaining credit limits, and coordinating collection efforts with internal teams.

The successful candidate will oversee month-end closings, monitor age analysis, and prepare debtors reporting while supervising junior staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent
• Honours in Finance/Accounting is desirable
• Certificate in Credit Control is advantageous
• 3–5 years debt management experience, with 1–2 years as Debtors Controller

Responsibilities

• Review debtor master data and credit limits; ensure accuracy
• Approve new customers and load onto IFS with correct links
• Maintain customer credit limits and adjust as needed
• Oversee regular credit limit reviews based on sales and payment history
• Coordinate debt collection activities and follow up on outstanding debts
• Prepare month-end debtors analyses and reconciliations
• Supervise Debtors Controllers and ensure timely debtor administration
• Provide accurate debtors reporting and management information
